All Brampton Library memberships require renewal on an annual basis. You may renew online or in-person within 30 days of your membership renewal date. All outstanding issues on your library card, including overdue or lost items, must be resolved before your membership can be renewed.

Adults, teens, and parents or guardians of minor children may renew memberships on an annual basis, provided there are no outstanding lost or overdue items on the account. Please review your Brampton Library account for outstanding issues that may prevent the renewal from being processed.
If there are changes to the information in the account, you may be required to visit in person and show proof of address before the renewal is complete. You must have signed up for email notification to be eligible for online renewal.

If you have not provided your email for notifications, when your account requires renewal, it will have a temporary block placed on it until you have completed the renewal process in-person.

Memberships for children under the age of 16 may be renewed online by their parent or guardian. The parent or guardian holds responsibility for any lost or damaged charges that may occur on the child's account. By renewing the membership online or in-person, the parent or guardian accepts this responsibility for the upcoming year.
Brampton Library memberships are available to all residents of Ontario. If you do not live within a reasonable geographic proximity to Brampton, and are only using your card for online services, please complete the renewal application when it is emailed to you. Upon receipt of the application, our staff will reach out to you to discuss your renewal and borrowing restrictions that may be placed on your card.
To renew your membership online, you will need to confirm your name, address, and birthdate. You will also be required to provide a valid email address, telephone number, and agree to receive email notifications from the Brampton Library.
You may change your notification option at any time.

Yes. As long as you have no outstanding items on your card, and your membership information is still in our system, you can renew your membership after the renewal date has passed.
