Board Games
Board games are now available to borrow for take-home play! Your Brampton Library card lets you borrow up to 2 games at a time, for up to 7 days.
This growing collection has arrived in response to our community’s need for free recreational entertainment options in Brampton, and includes games that vary in complexity, mechanics, and gameplay. You’ll find gateway games which are relatively easy to pick up and play, for families and groups with various levels of experience. We also provide games for younger children and some complex strategy games, to appeal to a variety of tabletop gaming preferences.
Board games are not only a fun and engaging hobby, playing board games improves your well-being! Research shows that board games support the development of multiple literacies and important life skills, enhance social cohesion, and offer positive cognitive and mental health benefits.

Find Your Next Board Game
Anomia plays off the fact that our minds are brimming with all sorts of random information: things to eat, pop songs, websites, etc. Sure, under normal circumstances, it's easy to give an example of a frozen food or a dog breed, but you'll find that your brain works a little differently under pressure!

Codenames is a fast-paced, social word game where two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. Their teammates know the agents only by their codenames. Your goal is to be the first team to contact all of their agents without running into an assassin, using the clues given by a spymaster.

In turn, players attempt to make the others guess an animal by playing pawns with illustrated icons on the game board indicatinga feature of the animal to be guessed. Draw 12 cards and attempt to find as many animals as possible in order to get the most points together!

Villainous is an immersive strategy card game where players take on the role of one of six Disney Villains. Each player has their own devious objective. Dragonimo is adapted from the game Kingdomino, with gameplay suitable for younger players. You have been named a dragon trainer and have the chance to meet baby dragons on a mysterious island. Pick a domino to add to your kingdom. Try to match it to the dominoes already in play. Each matching domino scores one egg, which is either empty or has a baby dragon inside! Who will find the most baby dragons?

Exploding Kittens is a kitty-powered, hilarious party game version of Russian Roulette with a simple strategy: betray your friends and try not to explode. Players take turns to draw cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten. When that happens, you explode and are out of the game - unless you have a Defuse card to save yourself! All of the other cards will give you powerful tools to help you avoid exploding, and defeat your opponents.

Board games can be placed on hold and sent to any Brampton Library location for pickup. We encourage you to plan ahead and place a hold with your Brampton Library card through the catalogue. When available, a board game can be borrowed on a first-come, first-served basis. To avoid disappointment, we recommend checking availability before you visit the library.
You can borrow up to 2 board games at a time with your library card.
You can borrow board games for 7 days. We appreciate your cooperation in returning this kit in a timely manner.
You can return this kit to any Brampton Library branch. Board games will need to be returned in-person to a staff member at a customer service desk during open hours.
