What Does It Mean to Have a LinkedIn Profile?

A LinkedIn Profile is your account on LinkedIn.com. You are in charge of that account.

You can choose to have a complete and highly searchable profile.

  • Use profile as online professional brand
  • Can be found with a google search or within LinkedIn
  • Helpful as a networking tool for professionals, job seekers and students

You can choose to have a limited profile.

  • Public visibility can be turned off for search engines
  • Ability to manage who can discover you on LinkedIn.com

You can set your sharing preferences by going to account settings. You can review the settings in each category to better understand how LinkedIn uses your personal data and how you can control it.

  • Advertising settings control what information about you LinkedIn uses for advertising purposes.
