FAQ

How many books do I have to read to win a prize?

There are no minimum (or maximum) reading requirements. We just want you to have fun reading this summer!

What are the prizes?

This year we have decided to give adults what they really want-- gift certificates to local establishments.

  • Bi-weekly prizes ($25 gift certificates): Draw will be held bi-weekly and if you are a winner, you will be contacted to pick up your prize at the branch of your choice. Winner will be contacted using the phone and email address they provided when registering. If these do not work or if we do not receive a response within one week, another ballot will be drawn. Draw will include anyone who logged a book or program in the previous two weeks. Draw dates are: June 15 & 29, July 13 & 27, August 10 & 24.

  • Grand prizes (3 $250 gift cards): will be drawn at the end of the summer (September 3rd). Anyone who logged a book or program will be entered into the final draw. Winner will be contacted using the phone and email address they provided when registering. If these do not work or if we do not receive a response within one week, another ballot will be drawn. Grand prizes have been generously donated by the Brampton Real Estate Board (insert logo).

  • Book Bash prizes (2 $100 gift cards): anyone who enters the Book Bash (August 17) will be entered to win a door prize. If the winner is not present at the time of the draw, another ballot will be selected. The winner must attend the Book Bash and be present at the time of the draw to win.

How will I get into the Book Bash?

Please RSVP when you receive the invitation through email. If you do not use email, please call 905.793.4636 to RSVP by phone. To ensure your spot, please RSVP July 29-August 4.

What is the Book Bash?

It is an event that all readers will love. Attend the Book Bash to mingle with authors, win prizes and meet other readers.

Can I win prizes without attending the Book Bash?

Yes, if you log a book or a program, you will be entered into the bi-weekly and grand prize draws.

How do I get secret codes?

You receive a secret code every time you attend an ASRC program. The codes can then be entered online or on your reading log. They count as a book read.

What happens if I am logging online and forget my password?

Go to you login page and Click on Get it by email

Do I have to read the “Try Something New” challenges?

No, these are just suggestions to keep things interesting during the summer.
