    Contribute to our community crowdsourced 3D printed art piece! 

    How to participate: 

    1. Click here to download the base STL file. 
    2. Customize it however you want using TinkerCAD or another 3D design application.
      Create a design that reflects something about you or something you are passionate about. 

    Here are some examples: 

         3. Come to one of our MakerSpaces at Four CornersChinguacousy, or Springdale library branches, to 3D print it. Library staff are available to assist you. 

    Your submitted piece will be assembled into a large 3D printed sculpture to be unveiled later this year. 


    This project is inspired by “Linked” created by Canadian multimedia artist Jeff DeBoer.

    Brampton Library provides exhibit space to individuals or groups wishing to display works of art. This free exhibit space enables Library visitors to participate in the creative life of the community, and presents artists with a valued avenue for exhibiting their work.

    Interested in displaying your artwork at the library? Please review Brampton Library’s Policy on Displays and Exhibits and familiarize yourself with the Artist Release and Waiver Liability, as well as the Community Galleries FAQ.

    About:
    MakerSpace Brampton is a joint initiative of the City of Brampton Economic Development Office, Sheridan College Faculty of Applied Science and Technology’s Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies (CAMDT), and Brampton Library to foster creativity, innovation, and exploration in a safe and accessible learning environment.

    What We Have:
    MakerSpaces at Four Corners, Chinguacousy, and Springdale library branches offer free access to maker and digital creation tools. Drop-in during library hours to access equipment with the assistance of staff. Users must complete a MakerSpace User Agreement form.

    Available equipment includes*:

    • Lulzbot Mini 3D Printer
    • Ultimaker 2+ 3D Printer
    • Roland CAMM-1 GS-24 Vinyl Cutter  (available at Chinguacousy only)
    • Silhouette Cameo 3 Electronic Cutting Machine
    • Canon 9000F Mark II Scanner (includes attachments for digitizing photo negatives and slides)
    • Elgato Video Capture Device (converts analog video from a VHS tape into a high quality digital file)
    • VHS-C Cassette Adapter
    • Wacom Intuos Drawing Tablet (for digital drawing, painting or sketching) (available at Springdale only)
    • Akai Professional MPK Midi Keyboard (a compact keyboard and pad controller for creating beats and music tracks)(available at Springdale only)
    • Desktop computers with software

    Programs: MakerSpace Brampton programs offer hands-on and interactive learning in 3D printing and modelling, coding, web design, robotics, and other STEM and maker topics for all ages. We also host special events and meetups as well as Tech Talks and Repair Cafés.
