Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why did Lynda.com upgrade to LinkedIn Learning?
LinkedIn acquired Lynda.com several years ago, and recently rolled out the updated LinkedIn Learning platform to public libraries. With a modern and intuitive interface, LinkedIn Learning is designed to make it easier for you to find relevant course content and includes features such as personalized course recommendations based on your selected interests.
Is the content on LinkedIn Learning different from Lynda.com?
You will continue to have access to the same high-quality, expert-led courses content available through Lynda.com, with extended access to all LinkedIn Learning content. What does this mean? Instead of 7,000 courses, you will now have access to 16,000+ courses once the upgrade is complete! LinkedIn Learning adds new courses weekly, and courses are available in English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Mandarin, and Portuguese.
What happens if I lose my library card, or need to get a new library card?
Your LinkedIn Learning account is tied to your library card number. If you lose your library card and get a new library card, your previous learning history won’t be available under the new library card number and PIN. We apologize for any inconvenience. At this time, LinkedIn is aware of this issue, and is working towards a solution.
Is a LinkedIn profile required to use LinkedIn Learning?
No. All you need to use LinkedIn Learning is your Brampton Library card number and PIN.
Can I connect my LinkedIn profile to my LinkedIn Learning account?
No. The library version of LinkedIn Learning can’t connect with your personal LinkedIn account.
