Note: You’ll need a microSD card (not provided by the Library) to save your videos and photos. Use a brand-name card that fits these requirements:

  • microSD, microSDHCTM, or microSDXCTM
  • Rated Class V30, UHS-3, or higher
  • Capacity up to 512GB

What you need to borrow a kit

  1. A valid Brampton Library card in good standing. Learn how to get a Brampton Library card
  2. A signed Library of Things Lending Agreement and Waiver. All customers ages 14 and over must complete this waiver to borrow a GoPro HERO11 kit. Please visit a Library branch and speak with staff to get access to this waiver. Completed waivers are valid for 12 months. They need to be re-submitted annually. 

Customers aged 14-17 must complete this waiver with their parent or legal guardian. Once the waiver is submitted, the 14 - 17 year old customer can borrow a GoPro HERO11 kit with their own Brampton Library card.

Children under the age of 14 must have a parent or legal guardian complete this waiver. The parent or legal guardian, or an adult caregiver, must borrow this kit on their own account. This kit cannot be signed out to the child’s account. 

Getting started with the GoPro HERO11

Download the Quik App

The Quik app is used for saving, editing, and sharing photos and videos captured with your GoPro camera. The basic version of GoPro Quik is free.

If you do not have a Quik app account, you will need to create an account in order to gain access. The GoPro Quik app is a third-party service that is governed by its own privacy policy and practices, separate from Brampton Library. We recommend that you consult their Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Where can I borrow a GoPro HERO11 kit?

GoPro kits are made available at all Brampton Library branches. We encourage you to plan ahead and place a hold with your Brampton Library card through the catalogue. When available, a GoPro HERO11 kit can be borrowed on a first-come, first-served basis. To avoid disappointment, we recommend checking availability before you visit the branch.

How long can I keep a GoPro kit?

You can borrow a GoPro HERO11 kit for 7 days. Renewals are not offered for these kits at this time. We appreciate your cooperation in returning this kit in a timely manner.

Where can I return this kit?

You can return this kit to any Brampton Library branch. Kits will need to be returned in-person to a Library staff member during open hours. Before returning this kit, please make sure you are bringing back all contents included in the kit when you borrowed it. 

What are the replacement fees for lost or damaged items in this kit?

If you lose or fail to return a kit, you will be responsible for paying the full replacement fee of $900 CAD. If you return a kit with damaged or missing items, you will be responsible for paying the cost to replace those item(s). For a list of replacement fees, please refer to notes in the catalogue record.
